01The short version
- Zia is an AI career strategist. She can be wrong, and she is not a lawyer, a financial adviser, a doctor or a therapist.
- You must be 18 or older. Keep your account secure and use Zia lawfully.
- What you share stays yours. You let us use it to run Zia for you, as the privacy policy describes.
- Roles Zia shows you come from EmployLabs. Applying doesn’t guarantee an interview or an offer.
- Zia is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
02Accepting these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and EmployLabs, which builds and runs Zia (“we”, “us”). They apply when you use Zia on the website, in the web app, on WhatsApp or on a call. By using Zia you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Zia.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data. It is part of these terms.
03Who can use Zia
You must be 18 or older to use Zia. By using Zia you confirm that you are.
04What Zia is, and isn’t
Zia is an AI. She helps you think through career decisions: salary, offers, notice periods, workplace problems, job searches and career changes. She is not a person, though she may sound like one.
- Zia can be wrong, incomplete or out of date.
- Zia does not give legal, financial, tax, immigration, medical or mental-health advice. For those, talk to a qualified professional.
- Salary figures and market data are estimates and ranges, not guarantees of what you will be offered or paid.
05Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password and sign-in codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
- One person per account. Don’t create an account for someone else.
06Acceptable use
Don’t use Zia to:
- break the law or help anyone else break it;
- upload content you have no right to share, such as someone else’s confidential documents or personal data without their permission;
- harass, threaten or deceive anyone, including recruiters you reach through Zia;
- submit false information in a job application;
- attack, overload, probe or reverse engineer the service, or get around its limits;
- scrape Zia or use automated means to access it, except through features we provide;
- try to make Zia produce harmful content.
07Your content
You own what you share with Zia: your messages, documents and answers.
You give us permission to store, copy, process and transmit that content, including through the service providers listed in our privacy policy, so that we can run Zia for you and do what you ask, such as applying to a role. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except where the privacy policy says we keep it.
Only share content you have the right to share.
08Zia’s answers
Zia’s answers are generated by AI. Check anything important before you act on it, especially numbers, dates, legal terms in a contract and anything you send to an employer. The decisions you make are yours, and so is responsibility for them.
You may use what Zia writes for you, such as a negotiation email or an interview answer, however you like.
09Job matches and applications
- Roles Zia shows you are EmployLabs roles (EmployLabs recruits for employers), plus public job postings Zia finds for you.
- From the moment an EmployLabs recruiter reaches out to you about a role (or you apply to one) until that role is decided, that recruiting team can see your application and what you and Zia talk about in that time, on any channel, as our privacy policy explains. Outside that window, your conversations aren’t shared with recruiters. Your current employer never sees them.
- We don’t guarantee an interview, an offer or any outcome. Hiring decisions are made by the employer.
- Match and fit scores are estimates to help you decide, not a judgement of your worth.
10Messages and calls from Zia
By using Zia you agree that she may contact you on WhatsApp, by phone and by email, within the limits set out in our privacy policy.
You can switch off any channel, or stop all contact, at any time in Settings or by telling Zia in chat. Replying STOP on WhatsApp stops Zia contacting you first and messaging you on WhatsApp. Your carrier’s normal message and data charges may apply.
11Crisis and safety
Zia is not an emergency service and cannot send help. If a message suggests you may be in crisis, Zia pauses the normal conversation and shares helplines (for India, the US and Canada; elsewhere she points you to your local emergency number), and may offer to call you, only if you clearly say yes.
If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number now: 112 in India, 911 in the US and Canada. In India you can also call Tele-MANAS on 14416; in the US and Canada, call or text 988.
12Fees
If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price before you are charged.
13Suspension and termination
You can stop using Zia and delete your account from Settings at any time. Our privacy policy explains what deletion removes and what we keep.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect you, other people or the service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first. We may also change or stop Zia, or parts of it; if we stop it altogether, we will give you notice where we can.
14Disclaimers
We work hard to make Zia useful and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or right for your particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
15Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for decisions you make based on Zia’s answers, or for the outcome of any job application, negotiation or career move;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost earnings or lost opportunities;
- our total liability to you for any claim about Zia is limited to the amount you paid us for Zia in the 12 months before the claim.
We do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as for fraud or for harm caused by our gross negligence.
16Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Bengaluru, India have jurisdiction over any dispute, without taking away any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
17Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you on the website or in Zia before it takes effect. If you keep using Zia after that, you accept the new terms.
