- Spring Boot
- Maven
- Gradle
- event-driven architectures
- asynchronous processing patterns
- messaging systems
- distributed system design
About the role
Ship and own scalable integrations between core applications, identity providers, and data security platforms. Ensure the backend services are performant, reliable, and scalable under high-volume event data. Enable operational, analytics, and reporting use cases through robust backend services.
What you’ll do
- Own deliveries and features from start to finish
- Design, build, and own backend services in a microservices-based, event-driven architecture
- Implement core domain logic that drives key product workflows and system behavior
- Ingest and process high-volume usage and event data from customer-facing endpoints
- Build backend services that support operational, analytics, and reporting use cases
- Model, persist, and manage domain data, enabling querying, filtering, and lifecycle management
- Expose well-designed APIs and webhooks consumed by customers, UIs, and external systems

What makes this role challenging
- Designing and maintaining highly reliable integrations between disparate systems (identity providers, data security platforms) with different protocols and APIs
- Processing and managing high-volume usage and event data with strict performance and reliability requirements
- Building and owning core domain logic in a complex, event-driven microservices architecture where system behavior is critical
- Operating with a high degree of ownership and navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment
What success looks like
- First 30 days
- Ramp on the codebase, understand the microservices and event-driven architecture, and ship a small feature or integration.
- By 90 days
- Own a backend service end-to-end, from design to deployment, and lead the delivery of a key integration with an identity provider or data security platform.
- First year
- Architect and deliver a major, scalable backend component that processes high-volume event data, and become a go-to expert for system interconnectivity and domain logic.
