    About the role

    Preserve business logic and reporting structures while modernizing legacy data models. Enable migration from legacy BI platforms to Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse. Ensure data governance, lineage, and metadata standards are met.

    What you’ll do

    • Review and document existing Qlik/Gather data models, schemas, and business rules
    • Redesign legacy models into Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse structures, following Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)
    • Translate legacy calculations, joins, and transformations into Fabric equivalents
    • Ensure models comply with governance, lineage, and metadata standards
    • Work closely with architects, BI consultants, and migration teams to ensure functional parity and business continuity
    • Streamline and normalize models for scalability, performance, and future extensibility
    • Provide clear technical and functional documentation for migrated models

    What success looks like

    First 30 days
    Ramp on the legacy Qlik/Gather data models, understand the current schemas and business rules, and begin documenting them against the target Fabric/Medallion architecture.
    By 90 days
    Translate a core legacy model into the Fabric Lakehouse structure (Bronze/Silver/Gold), map business logic and joins, and produce clear documentation for the prototype migration.
    First year
    Own the end-to-end migration of a legacy BI platform, driving redesign, governance alignment, and optimization, while mentoring peers on Fabric/Medallion best practices and establishing reusable migration playbooks.
